EWEA blog: Innovative ideas for how to produce wind energy in the future in Estonia

Two months before this year’s Global Wind Day, the Estonian Wind Power Association announced an imaginative contest with the aim of generating innovative ideas on what a wind turbine might look like in the future. Estonia: Narva ash field wind park to cost EUR 57.7 mln to build

TALLINN, Jun 17, BNS – The supervisory board of Eesti Energia approved an investment decision on Thursday according to which the Estonian state-owned power group will set up a 39 megawatt wind park on a former ash field near Narva at a cost of 900 million kroons (EUR 57.5 mln). Read more »

EWEA predicts a strong European market for wind turbines in 2010

The European Wind Energy Association (EWEA) today released its forecast for wind power installations in 2010. It expects 10 gigawatt (GW) of new wind power capacity to be installed in the EU during 2010, taking total installed capacity by the end of 2010 to almost 85 GW – an increase of 13%. Read more »
