The Estonian Wind Power Association Appoints a New CEO

As of May, the Estonian Wind Power Association has a new CEO, Terje Talv. Terje Talv has a long-term experience in communication management.
“I want to highlight the opportunities for wind energy in society more clearly and find a wider voice for the activities launched to achieve long-term climate goals. Awareness and cooperation between different interest groups are the primary keywords when taking a new position,” added Talv.
According to Aavo Kärmas, Chairman of the Board of the Estonian Wind Power Association, the goal of the association is to comprehensively develop and support the broader use of wind energy both on land and at sea. “Today, we are facing the goals of renewable energy set for 2030, which require significant commitment, cooperation, and forward-looking decisions from all concerned. The new CEO brings new winds and develops existing cooperation models,” said Kärmas.
The Estonian Wind Power Association is a professional association established in 2001., Today, EWPA’s membership numbers 22, including both local and international organisations, which own almost 95% or 293.5 MW of the total capacity of wind turbines installed in Estonia (310 MW).
The mission of EWPA is to create conditions for the development of wind energy and its technology that will ensure the competitiveness of the sector and the preservation of a clean living environment through the broader use of renewable energy.
