Celebrating the knowledge and experience of wind power around the Baltic Sea - Wind Power Conference, Tallinn October 20 – 21, 2011

Swedish Wind Power Association (Svensk Vindkraftförening, SVIF) and the Estonian Wind Power Association (EWPA) in cooperation organized a wind power conference in Tallinn 20-21 October at the hotel Radisson Blu Olümpia. With presentations from many local and foreign speakers the conference covered important and current issues of wind power development around the Baltic Sea. The main topics covered during the two day conference were:

  • offshore wind energy as an opportunity for innovation, co-operation and growth;
  • social acceptance – vital for wider deployment of wind energy;
  • small scale wind energy – decentralized generation raising awareness about energy, environment and climate;
  • wind energy and electricity prices.

In conjunction with the conference there was an exhibition area available for foreign companies, associations and other organizations for networking.

The conference is funded by SIDA Baltic Sea Unit together with the Swedish and Estonian Wind power associations.
